Flyweight supports the new Instagram API, so you can connect directly through Instagram login, with no detour through a Facebook Page. Authorize your Instagram professional account and you're set. We still recommend adding the account to Meta Business Manager to keep everything centralized.

On social channels, the AI introduces itself as your store's AI assistant when it picks up a new topic. That helps you stay aligned with the EU AI Act, and customers usually appreciate the transparency.

Setup and troubleshooting

Setup takes a few minutes. If DMs are not coming through, it's almost always one of two settings: Meta's conversation routing, or Instagram's own "Allow access to messages" toggle. These guides walk through both, with screenshots:

Do I need a Facebook Page?

No. Flyweight uses the new Instagram API, so you connect directly with your Instagram professional account. Adding it to Meta Business Manager is recommended but optional.

Can my team take over a conversation?

Yes, anytime. The AI hands off with the full conversation history, and on Instagram you have a generous window to reply after a customer's last message, so a reply the next morning still reaches them.

Is it the same AI as my storefront chat?

Yes. It is the same on-brand AI and the same Knowledge Graph. There is no second bot to train and no duplicate knowledge base to maintain.
